Search Engine Optimization
Absolutely your website needs SEO. Search Engine Optimization is a form of online marketing. SEO deals with both on page optimization and off page optimization. During this post I’m going to break down SEO, how to use it, why it’s necessary for your website, and how to optimize your website. Without proper your website being properly optimized you won’t be able to maximize the fullest potential of traffic to your website.
Not having your website fully optimized decreases your web presence down to just having a pretty website and if your website is ugly, now you have a really ugly website (laugh a little it’s Friday). On a serious note without website optimization when users google keywords your website will not rank with major search engines.
On Page Optimization
On page optimization deals directly with the website itself. The thing is your titles of your website which are also called meta titles. The meta title shortly describes what the web page is. You usually see the title on the top part of the browser window or browser tab if you have more than one browser open at a time. Your content on that web page is the very most important variable when doing on page optimization. Choose a content subject or focus keyword. For an example Search engine optimization is a focus keyword and everything on this post is going to be about SEO or Search Engine optimization.
Remember how your teacher told you back in the day told you not to use the same word more than twice in a paragraph? Well things have definitely changed.
The goal is to use that keyword as much as possible without over doing it. Out of 1,300 words I think using the keyword about 8 times will do the job. Again you don’t want to repeat the key word so much that it doesn’t make since because then walking on the edge of keyword smashing and that will go against your website ranking. Choose a focus keyword for each page that you want to rank and make sure content is developed around that word.
Blogging is another major form of on page optimization. Click that link and it will explain how a blog will help your business and your ranking on major search engines.
Off Page Optimization
Off page SEO refers to efforts done away from your website to promote your website and bring traffic back to your website. Backling is a major factor in off page optimization, but you have to be very careful, DON’T BUY “BACKLINKS” that’s a big NO NO! Social media is a great way to create backlinks. Hold on it get deep than that. There’s a such thing called follow and no follow links. No Follow links does nothing for your google ranking Word Stream does a great job at explaining the difference between the 2.
High PR directories are a good form of off page optimization and creating backlinks. You want other website to refer website back to your website, but they have to be quality websites. With off page SEO you are creating a good reputation fro yourself.
